In addition to any necessary club business, a "Spring Tune Up", or general fun run will take place on Sunday April 21, 2002 at Humber Bay Park. I hope to see all the usual faces there and some new ones too.
Here is a link to a map and directions to get to Humber Bay Park.

I will be there...
I plan on running the following:
12 cell spec mono offshore
N1 mono
maybe...
a run with my N2 offshore mono
a spin with the O mono
and a run with the N2 hydro, just for fun!
I am re-finishing my N2 Mono and it will be ready for May's tune-up race for the Michigan cup, but not this fun run...
See ya there!
Similarly
I will attend as well.
I would like to suggest that one of the objectives of the day is to finalize the decison on the course for 12 cell spec mono. There is some interest in an M course. If we can set up a course and have the interested racers try it maybe we can come to a decision. If everyone's boat turns left I suspect we would get unanimous decision to run the M course which would put MMM closer to NAMBA rules. I also suspect that folks are OK with "cats" - but this can be discussed more at the meeting.
Question: What should our course look like? It would be nice to make it simliar to a "standard" 12 cell M course, but maybe Humber Bay pond is not big enough? How does it differ from the enduro/eco 6 cell M course that MMM uses?
Do we need to bring some additional bouys? If so, we should get them in advance so we are ready to go on the day of the fun run. I have got my chest waders and I am ready to help out in setting up the course but I am not sure what a 12 cell M course looks like!

I will be there with my 3 boats.... enduro,12 cell offshore,and c/box.
I might pull my oh boy Oberto out of the graveyard and run it in LSH. I need to buy a motor for it. Can you guys tell me a local hobby shop that carries 700 bb's ?

I don't think we should do a 12 cell M course only for the reason that it will take too long to setup another course. What some of you don't realize is that takes a lot of time to setup what we normally do. I rowed the boat to setup the course a couple of times and it is not easy especially when we have a little wind. Let's stick with what we got.
Good luck with your chest wadders Ralph, I don't know who told you you would be able to walk out there but I know in the center on the pond I put the paddle down to touch the bottom and went all the way to my elbow without reaching the bottom. Near the shore you might be ok. It's very sticky on the bottom ......I walked bare foot 12 years ago .......boy was that ever a laugh, just ask Jimmy. LOL
Dan
Good point with the difficulty of the set up. One of the new guys, Eric, told me he walked out in the pond and it was only chest deep. Maybe the depth varies at different times of the year? I'll bring the waders just in case they can be of use. Maybe we can use most of the existing buoys and just add a few to make an M course? I agree with you, we want to keep the work load reasonable. I am OK with whatever the majority of racers want to do.
BTW - based on the discussion you and I had at the Jan meeting at Panther hobbies, I will be operating on Ch. 70. Is this your understanding as well?
Thanks Ralph
I'll be out for sure on the 21st. Gonna run 12 cell offshore, LSH and c-box for sure.
Any course is good by me. Anyone got a rubber raft. 2 boats would make set up easier.
Can you guys post your radio frequencies, I think I 'm gonna take the plunge and get a new radio this week.

While you are at it, can you set up a 1/16th mile straight away course for us and whoever else wants to run a SAW.
I will be bringing a SAW rigger down for a bit of high-speed fun.
Get those stopwatches ready gentlemen. ;)
Can you guys tell me a local hobby shop that carries 700 bb's ?
Sky Craft in Burlington has them.
I will be bringing a SAW rigger down for a bit of high-speed fun.
Thats cool, I still havn't started to build my Blizzard, sure will be nice to see one go.
Do you sell them already built? Maybe I can trade up?

Climate, I guess you have not been at the Humber bay pond site.
It is not a big enough pond for a Saw.

A&J Hobbies on Main St. in Unionville also carry 700's. They import directly from Germany and have excellent prices.
Lou - If you want to find out who is running on what frequencies, you may wish to check with Conrad Werner, I think he has a list. I am running on CH. 70.
Dan - Conrad for sure has a list of who is running what class. He circulated it at the last meeting and everyone filled it in. As I recall there were at least 3 LSH guys, plus LOU as per his note makes about 4 boats.
Lou - good idea with the second boat for set up. Anyone have a little inflatable raft?
Ralph
BTW - I will be bringing a 6 cell stock mono and 12 cell spec mono on April 21.

I am pretty flexible with frequencies, I have about 15 channels so I'm sure there won't be too much conflicts.

For those interested I will be running on 27 MHz: 2 and 3, and on 75 MHz channel 66, sometimes 62.
Still looking to run N1 Mono, P spec mono, LSH will have to wait until first race of the year.
Glad to see more involvement on the board, and hello to Dan.
Seeya in a couple of weeks, I have some painting to do...
