Just got my LM motor. The poop sheet tells you to put the capacitors on, but I didn't see a "timing screw washer." Where is the case connection you solder the capacitors to?

t would really help to see a picture...

Do you think it would be OK if I made a solder lug out of a piece of brass shim or something like that?

Louis - excellent job - how is it running?

I really can't keep it in the water at full with any amount of turn she is gone, but most of the time it lands and keeps on going. What should I do? ......The water was a little rough look in the pic gallery at (what is that) the pic was taken the same day mabe I need glass water to run that boat. Let me know what you think.

1. I assume you are running a 438
try a y536 - same pitch

2. Talk to Trey - he has a bad microbullet and is right next door - well almost

3. Talk to Dick his El Lobo holds the record for N2

If you have tail walk get a bigger turn fin (ie email me!)

On other hand super fast, barely in contact withthe water sounds about right for a LM Neo!

IMO the short answer is no

I know it is not in vogue to have turn fins which drag on the straight - yours is set up well there.

I would make two fins

1 has the arc of a circle as the leading edge - an 8" diameter circle - it goes down to bottom of the strut then back horizontal for 3/4" the vertical to the same height as the choine then back to the bracket

Shape 2. same as 1 but keep the curve in the leading edge going unitl it meets the vertical at the rear

Big fin = stability and speed in turn = entry to straight going faster

Just as important in this equation are the tabs

bend them down on the inside - or slit them at the half way point to control porpoising in the straight - lift them on the outside edge tohelp the boat's tail settle in the turns

let me know how you go

so the rounded side goes in front to the dow? How big is it? How do I attach it to the boat I'm going to cut it out.

What you see on your screen is about mninimum 6 cell size

In Inches or cm and does the rounded part go forward? Send me a pic of the bracket

Andrewg

The rounded part goes forward

the size height is 2.75" - make the other dimensions relative. the vertical rear line is a fulcrum - a point may be more gradual but there is also lots more turblence

How deep you go is up to you. the top is cutaway to reduce weight

Use a Fullers bracket

Or I can send you the lot plus fasteners for $19

AWhat class of boast is the LM neo motor leagal for. Somebody reading this forum notified me that I have an illegal motor (it cost more than $28) or it doesn't fit the stock class rules.

Tom

the motor is legal for any class except N1 mono and Hydro and the four (4) cell classes

I hope this helps you out
