I have 2 12 cell packs of CP2400's and am wondering what amp levels i can go upto without having to worry about damaging my packs?

Thanks for any help
Kris

35 amps and they last a few years with proper cycling.

Steve, is 35 amps a very conserative margin? I have (had) plans to run them harder. I thought the cp2400s are the same as the scr type cells, being very robust, ie low ir, fast charge and discharge. I'm planing to use 12 of them for testing my TJ outrigger, running an aveox 1412/y1.5 and 1750 prop. Thats around 50 some amps. Will the cells be ok? Also I heve a set of GP3300s to try. Will there be any speed difference? What speeds can I expect?
Thanks

the 2400's shoudl be fine to 60+ amps continuous

Vis a vis 3300s at 50 amps

2400s deliver 1325mah at 1.06v
3300s deliver 2917 at 1.09v

Let us know how that goes. If I go ahead and build the dual-hughey outrigger I was wondering about the CBP-2000 cells.

NIMH 1.6oz NIMH Great new 4/5A SC cell. Good replacement for CP-1700SCR in 30-40 amp applications. Great upgrade cell for the Zagi XT. Similar performance to Sanyo 1950FAUP at a much lower price. Similar weight too. $4/cell

Anyone have an opinion on these, other than the rather small capacity? If the actual discharge rate is much less than the 2400s I won't be able to use them.

BTW, i was going to start with the 1750 also. The British guys run 42 mph with that setup on 12 cells, I think in oval racing. I'm waiting to hear back from Ian Williams on how they do it.

Be glad to let you know how it runs. What motor are they running England with the 1750 prop?

As for the cp2400s, according to Andrewg in last post, the voltage holds up, but capacity drops by 40 some percent. Maybe thats ok. Would the rc-2400 be any better, but they cost as much as gp3300s. What motors are you running on your outrigger?
