Going through an old box of pictures I came across a few pics of some of my old cars.
Here is my '69 Roadrunner I had from 1975 to 1980. 383 Cu In, 727 Torqueflite, posi. Bucket seats, full length floor console. Bought it for $100 from a lady at my work. Her daughter had it, and it was full of spilled milk and cookie crumbs and other unidentified stuff. Paint was all faded. It ran real bad, but I needed something besides my motorcycle to get around in, so I bought it. I pulled a tune-up on it and found two spark plugs dead shorted from carbon. After the tune-up, I drove it down the street and it barked the tires shifting under light throttle into 2nd gear. I spent two days compounding the paint and cleaning the interior and it sparkled and glowed with pride again.
So I added a few things. Bored .030" over so it was a 388" with a 5-angle valve job; Edelbrock Torker intake with a Carter 700 AFB; Hooker Super Competition headers; Hemi mufflers; Dana 60 rear end with 3:88 (IIRC) gears; B&M Holeshot converter; B&M Transpak shift kit and valve body; Mallory Unilite distributor; Mallory Voltmaster coil; Mopar Performance clutch fan kit; Sun Tach and Stewart Warner gauge pack under the dash. Did everything myself except the machine work. Machinist estimated 450 HP with the parts/machining. It was, shall we say, fast......
Also, installed Addco swaybars fromt and rear and Gabriel 3-way adjustable shocks and the biggest radial tires I could fit back in those days.
Sure would be fun to have it again. ;)
