Pros and Cons FM transmitters

Are they better than AM? Is their range farther than that of AM? I've never had a problem from JR and Futaba AM radios. Should I change?

I just bought a Hitec Lynx 3d because the general consensus on this board seems to be that FM glitchs less, more consistent signal.

I'll know more when the ice melts.

I just bought an Airtronics MX-3 for sake of being able to dial boats in better and get an improved signal. Ill let you know how I like it when the ice is gone.

O.K. cool. Right know i'm using a Futaba 2 stick AM and JR AM computer radio (the computer part is probaly just advertising). The JR I love and the futaba is ok for what I use it for.
