Just wanted to announce the maiden voyage of my new web site http://www.bootwerkes.com
I've put it together to help promote the sport and to document my own experiences with fast electrics.
I'll be packing up and leaving the boonies of southwest Virginia for a move to the Washington D.C suburbs over the next four weeks, so it'll be a bit before it gets updated again, but I look to add lots over the spring, summer and years to come.
I'd like to say thanks to the Wollard's for giving us all an anchor for this obsession of ours.
Hope you enjoy the site.
Regards,
George

Cool George,
Hope your trip won't keep you away from your boats too!
See ya,
Dick

Thanks, Dick.
Unfortunately, the boats are packed up for the move (with utmost care...everything else gets tossed in a box). Probably be offline for a bit, too, after the move. But spring looks very promising indeed.

George

Very nice site George. I love the photo of the Chris Craft shop.
That looks to be a Model 103 their working on. My first RC boat was Dumas kit of one of those. As Don is fond of saying, "wood boats rule".
As another newcomer, I'm looking forward to watching your projects develop.
Hope you have some fun on East Coast. Make sure you take in some of the maritime museums if you haven't already, especially Mystic Seaport, Conn. and the Maritime Museum at Newport News, VA. (The latter houses the entire Chris Craft collection.)

Very nice site. I'll be interested in your LSH build up.
George, Very nice job. I know how much work they require.
Good Luck,

Hey George,
What part of southwest Virginia are you moving from?
My inlaws live in Coeburn in Wise county.
I know that area well. Your right though, not much there.

Hey Chris, I'm in the dying little town of Pulaski...I took a job here after school because it was too good to turn down. After a year facing the depressing circumstances that continue to grow here, I'm bailing. Headed for the suburbs of DC where I grew up, but haven't lived there for twenty-some years.
Lots more boaters up there, though mostly gas, I understand. I'm sure I'll find a few FE racers, though, enough hopefully to start a club.

George

The Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Virginia was kind enough to let me use the Chris Craft shop image, as well as the image of the babe sitting on the bow of yet another CC.

I think I have the image in one of two books - either cutwater or Classic American Runabouts. Both very nice books about early US speed boats of the Chris craft era.

George,
I have a handful of customers in Frederick MD on over toward Annapolis too. When you get some time I'll have to dig through the old billings to find them for you.
One of them has an absolute ROCKET of a boat!

That would be great, Andy...I'll be up there around the first of March...I know the state park the small guns guys use in Frederick, beautiful spot for FE's...when you get a chance, between now and then please do send them along, but don't rush or go to much trouble.
Regards,
George
