Gentlemen
No longer do we have access to member's email addresses. To send an email to a member we must do it through the "Send a member an email" function. This function does not, as far as I can see, allow the attachment of files. The personal message function also, does not allow for the attachment of files. Near as I can see, to acheive this, you would have to send a member an email through this board and request a return email. This, would then supply you with their address. A cumbersome procedure, don't you think?

Was the email icon there before? I didn't notice it missing until last night. I would like that function back as well, since not only can't you make attachments, you can't drag & drop links. I also like having the spell check in my email program.

Hi Doug,

I can assure you that none of these features were eliminated on purpose... as your statement seems to imply... I have only done mild modifications to this board before it was released for everyone to use it...

I think the board creators designed the email system to protect the recipients email address until they wanted the sender to know it! Hince the reason you have to email them first... In some ways thats good and others it bad... I will look for a way around it though!

I am browsing the board setup to try and find more email options and the spell checker... there is a spell checker incorporated into the board... and it looks to be on... but I as you cant seem to find where it is... so I will continue the search...

There are many hacks and cracks that I plan to start looking through to add to this board... to add more features and make things a little more fun...

Give me a little time and I'll find some answers...
It takes a few days to work out the bugs on any new product!

Thanks for your help,

Doug Forrester

There was no intended implication that you guys had done anything nefarious or eliminated something on purpose. It was a simple statement of fact. I realize that we all are feeling our way around this magnificent piece of software and that one by one some of us are discovering things that we love and find, shall we say, curious. These posts, from members, are sent in the manner of a heads up, we have discovered this - is this the way it has to be or can it be modified?
I'm sure that you appreciate member's constructive input.

I agree totally... and welcome user imput... thats the best way to make something better! Although your previous post seemed more like a criticizm than a comment... I appologize if I took it wrong!
Yes I am working on trying to find an answer to your comments... I agree that they are functions that can be used and appreciated by all! As soon as I find an answer I will post it so everyone knows!
Thanks again,
