Doug, I know exactly where he got the driver, I was going to do that on a separate posting, he carves the driver from balsa, and uses a williams brothers face, now I have the templates and instructions on how this is done, even so far as how to lay out the block of wood, I have asked dave for his permission to post it on this board, and he said he would be happy to let me use it, I will scan the worksheet, with patterns etc, and I guess I will send it to all those who would like it, tell me if pdf is ok, or do you want it in jpg, I think the pdf format would be best>>>> just an aside, the fittings on the boat are all sterling silver, jeez, cheers eddie

Venger, this isn't my handiwork it's a guy from my club Dave Kammerer, it's a 350 Ci chevy, this guy is absolutely unreal, the cover is over an astro 40, basically he made the cooling jacket then made a thin plywood cover, then he went to town with this type of foam and carved everything, He has just finished a model of the the Delphine iv for Bill Morgan the Owner of Hacker boats, and is now building his wife a madel of a 30 foot hacker, I have the plans for the delphine iv and when Gary Finlay posted that thread about gold cup racers, got me all hot to trot to build it, now I have to see what motor was in it, and make a cover for either that mega I have or a 700,,, glad you guys like it, cheers eddie

Guys, If you look on Rum Runner under Articles you'll find some great info, including Dave's own article on how to make a 1/8 scale figure. In my estimation, Dave has to be one of the best model boat detailers in the country.
