Hello everyone,
The Devil Mountain Water Boilers will be having a fun run and meeting on Saturday, March 12 at 1:00pm until ... at Heather Farms Park. If you need directions, please email me or call.
Wilmer was the first to make a sacrifice to the pond gods this year when his M2 Mono sank at Heather Farms. I tried diving for it on Saturday and again on Sunday with no luck. They have dredged the pond and now the water is 7' - 8' deep there and COLD!
We should have our race schedule firmed up by the meeting. The model Mariners have given us 5 dates at Kaiser Cove including one weekend for the 2nd Annual Trent Hare Classic. I went and checked out Newhall Park in Concord where the Sunbelt Crew has been practicing. I think it will work for our club races and will be in touch with the city of Concord.
We had 6 DMWB make the trip to Mesa Arizona for the Mesa Model Yacht Club's first Winter Warm Up Race. I think everyone but myself managed at least one trophy and John Sauter won the prestigious 2005 "Heater Award" for "the racer that showed talent on the water, as well as friendship in the pits." We just like to call him Mr. Big Heater Head now! Congrats John! The AZ guys put on a great event and it was well worth the effort to get there, I hope we get more DMWB next year to help support the AZ club.
As some of you are already aware, there has been a lot of talk about Drag Racing R/C boats in the club lately. Brian Jones is sending up a couple 1/10 scale Top Fuel Hydro Drag Hulls. We will have them on display at the meeting if they arrive in time.
That's it for now, See you on the 12th!
