test
I completed my first boat and started the tub tests. Not good.
The boat runs fine out of the water. The second the prop shaft hits the water the motor will give a little glitch. At half to full throttle the motor and servo will go nuts. This only happens when the stainless steel shaft hits the water.

I tried several motors and speed controls.
Radio is Futoba MJ
Shaft is stainless steel with brass stuffing tube and direct drive with brass u-joint.
The boat is a Dumas short stuff with Dumas hardware kit.

Please help.

What kinds of motors and speed controls? It makes a difference.

Thanks

Do you think your SC3-4C will solve my problem with the p2k2 motor?
Is there a motor limit on the SC3-4C?

If you don't have the capacitors on the motor, the ESC can't fix anything. It might reduce the problem but it won't go completely away.

There is no motor limit, per se, on any of the ESCs. There is a current limit. You need to find the stall current for your motor to determine if it will exceed the ESC's limit.

With those motors you listed, you should be OK.

How many cells are you running? If just 6, the SCx-4C or the SCx-LP will work well. Air or water cooled is your choice - either will be fine.
