Let's get a list of who is building and get the strut issue settled.
The way I see it there are 3 options.
Option 1: Strut must be mounted underneath.
Option 2: Strut must be mounted on the back of the transom.
Option 3: Strut can be mounted anywhere you like.
These are the people whom I *believe* are building or have a boat. We will need to add to this list because I know there are more.
Myself 3
Randy 3
Dan 1
Joe 3
James 3
Greg 3
Steve S 3
John S
Dennis Costa 3 (from "drag boat" thread)
John G.
If I make any mistakes please tell me and I will change them.

Just like real drag boats, I vote for Option 1
Strut must be mounted underneath.

Got one under const. now plan on another, one capsule, one open....
I plan on a strut at either end to offer randy a handicap.... If reverse ain't enough I'll close one eye.......;)

First, yes, I am building one boat now. Since I'm easily influenced, I'm sure I'll building others. I also have a Volcanic Splash that I converted over to a dragboat. Since there are no rules right now I guess thats ok too. So I guess I really have two. Also, since the Splash already had transom mounted hardware, thats whats on it.
Maybe we are making this whole issue too hard. If the real dragboat guys can run or configure their hardware any way they want in search of speed, we should be able to do the same. Heck some of the boats now have two counterrotating props so ever the big boys run different setups. Thus, option three makes the most sense to me.
Lets just buildem and racem and let the best man (boat) win.

option 3
With the option of one on the capsule because everyone knows how my boats always flip over.
