Lenher motors and timing

Hi,
I have a couple of lenher motors, I was told that you can run them as multi pole motors when in fact they are only two pole motors. is it just a matter of changing the timing to 15degrees from the normal 2 to 5 degrees you would run a 2 pole motor or is there more to it?

That motor is best run with lower advance for best efficiency. You can use more advance to get a bit more power but it will be at the cost of more current and heat.
