We will be on Robotica this Wednesday night at 8 pm on TLC in the "finals". They taped a bunch more than was on a few weeks ago so maybe there will be some more FE footage. I hope you enjoy it!

Tom,
Actually all these shows were shot the last week of October. Anyway, thanks to you and everyone else for your support!

Come on Tom all tv shows are shot in advance. I don't think I have ever seen a hydro race that wasn't at least a month old still fun to watch though.

Seafair's hydro race (Seattle) goes out live.

It would be great if Detroit would, but with them facing financial ruin and loss of Daimler/Chrysler sponsorship bucks, I doubt it will happen. Maybe the Gold Cup can travel around again!!!

[Seafair's hydro race (Seattle) goes out live]

In the local area, as some races in Detroit (in the distant past) have been broadcasted.

Finding enough viewers to make the broadcast financially viable is near impossible. With the crowd sizes down at the river there aren't a whole lot of interested people left to watch it on the tube.

This is without even venturing into the area of the loss of spectator interest that came with the loss of competition among the unlimiteds.

Do I sense a rather large chip on your shoulder regarding the Detroit race?:)

Not "large" but I think the sport lost a lot when it went to the Pay-To-Host scheme, and even worse when it gave the 5-year-deal to Detroit (not against Detroit, mind you, just the concept).

It's a shame that the U-boats are so financially and otherise screwed up.

That's why we have The Lights, though!

Jeff,

Well, Deb Bot really made it far for being such a light weight bot - what a cliff hanger that show was - throughly enjoyable! I thought your driving was superior, look forward to you competing again!!!

Hey Jeff...

Good going!!! I just saw it... I guess they did a mid-day rerun (Sunday 2:00pm)... I was just bored clicking around and saw the Debbot kickin butt... Congrats... Although I guess in that final round it looked like she needed bigger tires so you can handle some of the rougher terrain...

So whats next? I know your gonna go bigger and better rite!! :-)

By the way... I took a Debbot shot from your website and resized it for an avatar! Hope you like it...

Laters man....

Al,
I've already entered Robotica 4 - if they have it. There will be a season 3 which starts in March. If TLC orders another season or two then we will be in again. Thanks.

Donnie,
That avatar is too cool!!! Thanks man!!!!!
You can bet for the next time around I will have a different bot that will be more suited to the course. Deb Bot is my middleweight Battlebot and was not built for Robotica. I just entered becasue it was filmed in LA and I had the bot. I was very lucky! Its a good thing I won some money because it looks like I need to get a new sensorless
ESC for the rigger. I'm not done with you guys yet!!

What about an animated Deb bot avatar? Like a revolving bot with the arm going up and down?

Don Wollard

Is that avatar a pic of your new rigger? Hmmm!!!

Yep! I would think you would indeed need a sensorless controller for that lil puppy. LOL!

Caught the re-run of the finals last eve. Congrats on making it that far. Quite an accomplishment!

Will you make the Nats or the SAW's this year?

Very cool Jeff - keep us posted about the show times! Maybe your new bot could spin a razor sharp boat prop and slice and dice some tires...gotta tie in the bot with boating somehow. Good luck building!

Don,
Yeah, Deb Bot is my new rigger! I wish. Shes fast but not that fast.
My intentions are to make the SAW, Nats, and Dan and Randys race in NoCal. Hopefully life wont get in the way.
