They call it a 700 but its the diameter of a 500.
Its very close in size to a fiegao XL series. Being that its 8 poles I would also be interesting to hear what people thought about it.

i called hobby lobby and they want $211 for this motor which seems over priced to me considering graupner wants 129 euros with the vat included

Graupner just started putting prices on their website.
Our dealer prices are more for the item prices marked on their website. And we buy from a distributor in Germany. Not sure whats going on. But thats the same with lots of imported fe boat items coming into the USA.

ok thx sounds like bad business on their part . as big as this country is u would think that our mfgs. would produce a wider range of stuff and we would not have 2 go overseas.

That's strange, my dealer states the prices mentioned by Graupner on the site (and in the pricelist) are way too high. Must be because we're right next to Germany...

Hi ,this motor is produced by Flyware and at Flyware it`s called Shark 20.The motor was prized 99,- euro direct from Flyware. But i can not find the motor on there curent website.I will call them tomorow for you ,as the hobbyloby prize is to high.
The motor is designed for 20 cell use but some have run it with 24 and up to 30 cell. For high volt you need a good esc as with the high pole number(8) the switching frequenz is high and many esc run in the rev limiter.

Hi,Graupner has the 700 line and itīs the same as the Flyware Max and Shark motors. The 700 is the flight motor with 16 pole rotor and the 700 M (marine)is the boatmotor with 8 pole rotor.
Look at this link,http://www.vth.de/Modellbau/Werft/Wer06_05/14.asp ,this is a 1,10meter long and 35cm wide BK Electronik offshoretunnel that has two Shark 20 motors installed running with 63 mph.
The guy show that you need not the high prized motors to go fast.
Actuall prize by Flyware is 109,- Euro.

An 8 pole needs a lot of actuations. Like Chris says, 32 cells will give you more rpm than most ESCs can handle. Also, on 24 the recommended prop is K42-K45mm.

I just received a few of the 700m motors. It has a pretty large internal fan. I can't wait for the ice to melt!

steve the one benefit of dumping toxic wastes and wise guys into our water system it seems to keep the temp a little higher, we had some ice, but the warmer weather (37-40 degrees) seems to have worked wonders was down at my pond the past weekend, flat as glass and soft!!!........ why not hope a drive down..muhahahahahahaha looking forward to the reports bud...
christian thanx for the always good explanations...

Ice? Ice? Oh yeah, that's the stuff we use when we shake (not stir) our martinis. Temps here have been in the mid to high 70s. Had to run the AC in the truck the other day.
Might go boating again this weekend, the rainy season is just around the corner. :D
