I'm just wondering what exactly the difference is between laser cut and not.
Is a model such as Zwart Zee the pieces are cut but not acqurate so the modeller will have to do some sanding himself.??
Or are the piece not cut at all.

Laser cutting uses a highly concentrated laser beam to cut the material for the kit.
A lot of older kits are Die cut which uses a press to crunch the parts out of a sheet of wood or plastic.
Laser cutting is very accurate. (less than 1, 1000/inch deviation)
We can laser cut one of our kits today, and ten years from now cut another with no visible difference in any of the parts.
With Die cutting, the die wears over time and more like crunches the parts rather than cutting cleanly through them.
Some kit manufacturers simply print an outline on a sheet of material for you to cut out on your own.

Laser cutting offers a terrific quality of cut. Typically light (sorry for the bad pun) years ahead of die crushing of parts. Of course it the data fed to the laser cutter is bad you will have bad misfitting parts that will require some work.
As a side note, I hope to have my laser cutter in service by this time in June so if ya got stuff you want cut.....
Cheers,
