View Full Version : WTB: Williams Bro 1/12 "Military" Pilot Figure
Want to Buy the 1/12 Scale Military Pilot figure by Williams Brothers. Part Number is #17000. This is the modern day pilot head and torso with a yellow visor on the helmet.
I'll pay a fair price and postage.

Williams Brothers is back in business. Do a search on RCGroups.com - there are announcements there. They do not have all the molds running (last time I checked) but they are planning to eventually. Great Planes (Tower) should be carrying them.
Andy
Jeff - please let me know if you have an extra one. They are presently hard to find.
Andy and Jim - glad to hear they will be soon available from again. Right now, none of our local hobby shops have stock.

I just got off the phone with them. Molds are up and running. They have inventory for most of the pilots (I ordered a dozen 1/12th military, no problem).

What is the tel number to order? Is it still Williams Bro that is producing them?
Thanks RvE

Williams Brothers sold the molds and the name to somebody else. He changed the name slightly, as Brian showed, but they are the same stuff.

What are you going to do with a dozen Modern heads?
David
I ordered several 1/12 Military pilot figures today, direct from Williams Bro Model Products. $2.35 ea.
Thank you Brian for the contact info.
Thanks Jeff for offering one of your own figures.
As noted earlier, WBMP does have most pilot figures in stock.

At under $3 a piece, I decided not to run out for a while.
Plus I can give them out as party favors at the club meetings;)

Two 1/12 Military Pilot figures ordered direct (tel order) from Willaims Bro in Texas on Dec 30. Arrived in perfect condition in Toronto, Ont on Jan 13.
Prompt, and courteous. All they need is a website for ordering.

I have two pilots I will need to attach securely to a gel coated fiberglass hatch.
What should I use ?
Clear silicone RTV ?
I am afraid if I was to roll it over the pilots may be ripped off & lost.

a thought...
you could use the bottom as a template to cut a small piece of ply wood, cut inside the line and it should fit inside the pilot, then mount a blind nut in it, glue the piece inside half the pilot, then put the other half on you'll have a mounting plate inside the pilot and and you'll be able to secure him with a small 4-40 screw, he'll never come off...

I take a different approach. I put a blob of foam inside the whole head, then use foam-friendly silicone to glue him on. If he ever breaks off, he'll float.
Andy
I do what Eddie does with a small peice of plywood and the blind nut. To make it easier, I glue the ply on the underside of the joined pilot figure. I press the blindnut flush onto the ply and glue this onto the bottom of the figure. I just use a short screw that does not "poke" too far up into the figure. The screw goes in from underneath and through a hole drilled in the hatch to hold the figure in place.
If you spend a lot of time painting and detailing your drivers (I am kinda nuts that way) it is handy to have them removable in this way. This allows you to reuse them on different hulls.
