Does anyone remember a few years back when Sanyo was more or less the only company around? They came up with new cells every 4 years!
Now with 3(4) chinese companies beating each other this will not have an end here. I would'nt be surprised to see 5000mAh cells until next year.
Not even considering Lixxx technology which will probably be really ready for boat applications soon.
So, is this good? Yes and no.
We will need to have race formats where capacity (and voltage) will not be important anymore. Otherwise this run will kill the hobby!

A very wicked cell, but I have a small question, what does this line stand for?
"These batteries do not fade"
I don't understand it perhaps you do.
And I'm also interested in the internal resistance from the cell 1.8 mOhm, but how does that resamble to gen2 GP3300 cells is it more or less? Not all sale sites use the same value's for the same cells whitch is confusing.

Kill the hobby? If it's that bad why not follow something simular to what ROAR does? 2006 cells are the following:
GP3700
GP3300
IB3800
IB3600
(just examples)
Anything new needs to be submitted to XYZ org. for 2007 approval.
motors could be the same....why will batteries kill it when we have a different motor every week as well?
Or, any club can do whatever they want.
just some thoughts.....

It's great that there will be acapacity war but it is to bad that they will be chinese......great workers, low prices but ussually crap.
I would guess that they can keep upping the capacity but the failure rate will soar.
I think someone has already noticed this...

Even Sanyo has moved all the NIMH to China.....go LiPoly and run South Korea products. :D

I'd say don't underestimate the Chinese capabillity's they haven't beaten the European products yet! But they are very good in copieing technologie and then improve it. At the time you read it you'll laught about it but mind you it's these Chinese company's why there is a war in the first place. And a very good war too for once ;)

We are getting a ton of calls for GP4300 cells and I understand why, but what's interesting is that most think these will error free right out of production. I don't have that feeling.

Well, i would think GP's could do a little better. But you never know as the step from 3700 to 4300 is pretty big. I would worry more about when they will be available to the public.
