Thirty-four people signed up for the competition, but I don't see anywhere near that number posting their build threads. Come on guys, get in the fray and have some fun.

I for one would have never attempted a scale project such as I am doing without the motivation this competition provided. I am having a hoot doing this. Somebody could to do an all-out racer with all the tricks, maybe somebody could do a whimsical scheme, and of course, somebody could do a "How Cheaply Can it Be Done" theme.

I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Doc, we are all enjoying the creativity that is being displayed, I am in awe of the builds, others are doing their builds and documenting it along the way and will post all at once, I am behind in a few projects and I am writing an allison detail how too, (you don't need it LOL) but it should be good for guys who don't normally do scale.

as for the next project it has been picked, the plans are in hand, timing hasn't been decided.... but there is definately going to be quite a few of these contests if we can do it .... and some maybe for just bragging rights.... :) but it will all be good....glad your enjoying the experience as much as we are enjoying your build...

Eddie,

I like the idea of continuing these contests and I have a suggestion. Perhaps it would be more educational if different construction materials were selected for successive build competitions. Specifically, I'm thinking a plastic hull might be interesting.

If I were to build another wood kit in the future, my preference would be Doug Forrester's Manx. Does he sell his plans?

Eddie,

A couple more thoughts along this line as well: In all fairness to the competitors in any future competition, maybe past winners should be inelegible for additional prizes and awards, and only be allowed to compete for bragging rights. This way everyone has a chance to be a winner and no one individual can monopolize the build competitions. Or, if bragging rights are the ONLY awards, then a competition can be open to ALL (with advanced and novice categories).
