Andy, glad you got it before someone else.

Pooley, I also use Krylon for my boats. Like Tony said, primer is key for good paint. Of course, the paint is only as good as the prep work prior to painting.

It does pay off to sand with 400 then 600 and use water. After priming, then wet sand with 600 very lightly and then you are ready for paint. I sand with 1500 between coats of color and then I put 3-4 coats of Krylon Clear (non -yellowing formula) I also put decals on after the last sanding before I start the clear coats.

Even though the sanding with 1500 scuffs up the color, not to worry....when the clear hits it all goes back to a pretty shine.

Be sure and tack it off before doing the first clear coat.

If you are doing doing more than one color...wait for it to dry a couple days and the wet sand and do the edges between colors so it feathers and then clear coat and you won't feel the paint color layers after a couple clear coats.

Hello Guys,

Res. Kryron werk great on prastic.

Andy, LOL!!!!!

On a "lighter" note, I'm not to sure that using primer on a plastic boat is needed. On my plastic kits I rough up the hull with 320 and spray on color. Also, when using Krylon you can spray a second color within an hour of the first color. What I mean is one hour dry time then tape off the desired area and shoot the second color. That's the best thing about Krylon, It won't wrinkle at any point of the paint process. I wish the other paint manufacturers would follow suit, Krylon is a bit limited in color selection.

Paul.

Don't use grey primer, use white! I made the mistake of using grey on a boat that I was going to paint bright yellow. It took about 6 coats of yellow to totally cover the grey!
