I am about to start painting my new boat and have always had problems getting a good job done. I am looking for tips as to the best way to go about painging the hull. My paint is a marine enamel custom mixed and I am going to apply it with a prevail system that basically makes it a spray can for custom mixed paints. I am really looking for info on how heavy to make the coats and any other tips to make it come out good.
Thanks

Like most paints it's a good idea to have primer on the surface to be painted. If you have not done so already. What I'd do is build it up in layers. do a light coat first, and wait a couple minutes. and do a little more, be sure not to spray continously with spray cans do short spray pulses back and forth accross the surface. be sure not to make the surface to thick.. runs are the worst to fix, because you are using enamel. I always found you can't really sand it after because most enamels use aceitone for drying, and sanding it usualyl causes the surface to "yellow" a bit. Hope this helps
