Yep, one of the famous Graupner Taifun sport hydroplanes. Long out of production and rare as hen's teeth. As new, never built, in factory box. Sold as-is with hull, hatch, etc. May be missing a few smaller parts and some decals. Does not include a drive system.
Graupner says:
VERY fast! Skips on the water, partly flying! Deck comes prejoined to the hull. Very little building is needed to complete. Mostly preformed ABS parts. Full of speed-increasing details. 24” long hull.

Okay Wayne, e-mail or PM me your address and I'll send you mine for PayPal, and I'll figure the postage. I'd prefer PayPal, but we can talk. Thanks!

Good score Wayne! Talk to Jay on how best to set-up the Taifun. He is a wealth of information. I think Jay used a car (or other "500-sized" motor) with a Hughey gearbox in his 10-cell record-setting boat.
Just don't make it faster than my H&M Miss Bud.

I just made adeal with Mike Holland to buy his Graupner running gear,
now How to go as fast as Bill's 12 Cell Hydro on 8 or 10 cells??
Taifun is lighter, What else? What else?
Jay, what prop did you use, and any ideas for using a brushless motor?

I don't collect for the fun value, Ray. I collect to preserve those things which I believe are historically significant. Plans I collect because I hope to retire one day ;)
I've had several Taifuns for running. They're a great boat, especially on 8 cells. They're a little too short to run legally as P Sport or LSH boats (even with the new method of including the flashing in the hull length), but they are a blast. Good and stable, too.
Hobby Lobby is still selling the running gear kit for them.

I still have my Taifun with the stock setup from Graupner. It was a top contender at Batavia a few years back in their version of the LSH class. A great running boat.
