I'm looking for the distance and depth that some of you run a straight shaft out the back of the UL-1, Now mine is 5/16 from the bottom of the boat(to top of stuffing tube) and the drive dog is 3/4" from the transom. Tony T. said he runs the drive dog at 1 3/16 back. Any other Ideas out there? The set up is for LSH.
Thanks Pete

If you are using the Graupner 1157 setup, following the manual will put the prop at the right position.

Thanks Andy thats the set up from the manual. That should stay the same when I change to a homade drive shaft right? (from your plans on Jeff W.'s site).

Depth will stay the same, but if you are using a different motor (more powerful one) then move the prop 3/8" to the left of the boat. The motor stays in the same place but gets slightly rotated so it still points at the prop. This will take the prop walk out w/o having to dial in some left rudder --- more speed.

Forgot to mention. My stuffing box ends about 9/16" behind the transom.

That will be alot of help, I remember reading that in the manual. I am using the 9.6 700bb that came w/1157. the boat is fast but not nearly as fast as Dick C's in that video of LSH he just posted.
Any sugestions on prop selection for this setup?
Where can I get a copy of LSH rules at?
Thanks again Pete
Hopefully this will catch on in AZ. and I can pass this on

Rules: http://www.users.fast.net/~montana - the latest version is what was passed, I haven't updated the site to reflect that.
Start with X642 but X646 or larger may be OK.

Hello Pete,
I built a UL 1 with the Graupner setup and found the 447 or 450 worked with the 9.6 motor. Only problem is that 9.6 just can't keep up with the 8.4.
