I know there are people here that capture video and put up small movies on web sites. I would like to do the same. I don't have a digital video camera so Iwas wondering what is a good system to use for capturing the video.

I use a dazzle Digital Video Creator http://www.dazzle.com/products/vidcr.html
then I use windows media encoder (free download) to turn the mpg into a .wmf file.

Well I use a digital video camera, or regular video camera, and record it to the pc with my video card wich also is a capture card (ASUS V7700) as for the software I use VideoWave 3.

Jim,
Forget the e-mail I sent.
Mine is an ATI Radeon card - same features as the other. It captures as an MPEG file. I leave it as an MPEG so that virtually any computer on the planet can view it no matter what OS they are using.
I have been encoding them at VCD compatibility so they can be dumped to a CD for viewing on the DVD player.

I'd love to be able to post the .mpg file. It is very high quality but it is too big. Example-- I took a 16 meg .mpg file and windows encoder turned it into a 2 meg .wmf file. Most people, unless they are so hopelessly hooked on FE(thats me :D ) or have high speed won't take the time to download a 16 meg file.

That makes sense. I just queue up a bunch of uploads or downloads and go to bed and in the morning they are all wonderfully there on the hard drive.
