...for more boaters in the Greater New Orleans area. We have a few more peep's together now and hope to be able to stage some racing this coming spring/summer on a local basis to start.

Hi Paul, Thanks! Funny thing is I have had your phone number in my wallet for 2 or 3 months now. Chris Herzog gave it to me one day when I was looking for bsp'd props. He also gave me a Top Flight balancer he didn't use anymore so I have trudged my way through a half dozens props so far and never called you.

Anyway, we'd really like to see some more FE racing within a drivable distance. There used to be a club here. Not sure what happened to it. Just kind of disappeared of the radar screen back in '03 it seems. I don't know alot about the sport , yet but would be willing to help out in any way I can. I've even invested in several course marker bouys and have spoken to a Ranger about a pond in the Bonnet Carre Spillway.

A quick look at the calender says I can make the race in B.R. At least that Saturday and/or Sunday. I'm only an hour away I guess. It would just be a "recon" trip for me. Not even sure that my SV is compatible or competitive.

No one here wants to put up the $$ needed to build. HTe SV would keep these guys intest and hopfully keep them in it. Anyone heard anything else about this SV class actually forming?

I just put Feb 9-11 on my schedule. I am in New Orleans and it's just a short ride. We have a few guys here interested in racing but we need guidance. That race will be a good place to start. We all have SV-27s but don't know if there is a class for them. We'll stay tuned!

Why don't you consider driving to Baton Rouge. That would make 3 of us, at least. Sounds like the makings of a "match race" if nothing else!!

Pual, Who is putting on this race in Baton Rouge? I would like to get some more info on it. Location, club, classes, schedule, etc.

Hi Guys,

The race is being put on by the Baton Rouge Nitro Burners. I'll tell you what, if you can get at least 3 guys together with SV27s I'll pull one out of my stock to race with you guys making it 4 at least. Here's the deal though, this is a gas/nitro race and I race in the open classes with my FE powered boats. These are a really good bunch of guys and I will contact them about putting a class in the sceadule for you guys. Keep in mind you'll be running 5 rounds over 2 days so if you want to do this I just need your commitment. If it works well I'll try and talk with the other clubs in D5 to do the same at their races.

Let me know ASAP so I can get to work on it.

Pual, I'd be game as long as the 2 days were Saturday and Sunday. I couldn't make a Friday race due to work. I know at least one more guy that would be willing and able. So we're just one short for now. There are at least 3 other SV ownrs in the area that we know. Surely one or both of them will be interested, too. I''ll try to call you again tomorrow sometime.

Pooley, That's great! There's a rag-tag bunch of us new guys just trying to get something going again. If the weather permits, we'll be out somewhere this weekend... Lafraniere, Bayou St. John, the Spillway, etc....

OCT 27-28 NEW ORLEANS VOODOO RACING[ SCHEDULED 1ST RACE]

...was included. I haven't seen/heard anything about thise club/race before now. I wsh I could find out more about it and who is hosting it. The only club I know of is the Southern Gentleman's Racing Club which is all Nitro. I have talked to their Pres., Virgil, who has invited us FE guys out to run with them on their pond in Slidell anytime, though.
