Hi Guy's
It is a long time ago i have posted somthing on this forum.
So i want to make a great comeback:D
A long time ago, there was a guy called Ralf moser.
I was pretty impressed of his big electric vee's and there awsome speeds.
About 1 year ago i have contacted him and asked him some questions about type of electric motors etc. About 1 week later i have ordered a lehner motor it was in june 2006.
I have choose this motor, becouse the hull i had bought was a gas hull.
Gas engines make about 18000 to 22000revs here in the netherlands the most dutch people ran this boats at +/- 60mph, so i decided to take a big electric motor which makes about 20000 revs a minute on 30 cells.
It became a lehner 3040/16.
There where some problems with lehner and bk, so about 1,5 mont ago i finally got my lehner motor.
In the past year i had ordered the motor, i Had some time to look for a hull and some hardware.
I still do not exactly know wich rudder to choose, so i decided to take the one which i stil have from a old graupner daytona beach.
The hull is a 67 magnum
The drive has became one of mtc.
The rudder servo has became a multiplex rhino
The motor has became a lehner 3040/16
There are 64 gp4300 cell's in the boat
And there is a schulze 32/170 on board.
The weight of the boat is approx 22lbs(10 kilogram)
2 weeks ago there was the maiden run.
There was a big event in the netherlands whith many people came out whole europe.
There i ran the boat for the first time with no problems at that event.
there where some guys who took some pictures.
The speed with a 60mm carbon from graupner was 70+km(45+ mph) After some testing i hope to reach the 50 or 55mph, but don't forget, the 45+mph was the first run!
Here are some pictures of the boat.

Thanks Guys!!!
Hope to test this big vee again very soon.
I have to wait at the prop(octura x472) till it's ready(sharped an balanced).
There will be coming a small film from the run in Neunen where the pic's been taken.

Hi xander,
great. sadly i couldn`t come to nuenen.
with this gentle setup you should get a long runtime.

it looked good in the video very competitive but you know how it is pride in the technology and all I am certain someone has tried the e-version out :-)

Hi guys!
I did not run the boat for atleast 3 month's becouse i had to sale the 64 cell's and some other boats for the lipo's.
But today the lipo's arrived at my home and the esc is back from schulze, so i have to put some connectors to the lipo's and esc and the boats is almost ready for testing.
A couple of weeks ago i have ordered some props by andy brown ill wait until the props arrive and i will let the tests begin.

Xander,
I really like your boat.
Someday I would like to run a 3040 Lehner myself.
So I wanted to know what props you ordered.
Thanks,

Hi harry,
the props i have ordered are for the beginning octura x460 and octura x465.
I have a schulze 32/170 esc, i send it to schulze and they have put 9 elko's on the esc, before there where 5 elko's on it.
Even they have updated the software.
Here in holland there is a guy called Han, he runs a Hydro en marine Xray with the biggest pletti, and he could turn props they are a lot bigger (propshop 7014/2 and propshop 7016/2)
If i knew before i bought a plettenberg motor.

Are you sure the 3040 is not as fast as the 370? the 3040/16 has a slightly lower kv and 1kg mass vs 570gm for the 370/50/A1S watercooled.
I think on 12S lipo the 3040 is going to be very fast with a 70mm prop.
I find on the larger models too high prop rpm means you carry a small prop to control amp draw through the esc and cells and this is inefficient. I get a better result in 25000-27000 range and use mroe efficint props

Hi there! maybe it is faster, but with a 60mm carbon and 64cell's the esc overheated after about 4minutes.
With the lipo's i have lost less then 3kg weight.
about 12lipo cell's, if would run 12 cell's, i have to buy a another esc, but after 650$for the lehner and 500$for the 32/170 schulze esc and 1000$for the lipo's and about 400$ for the hull and hardware, i aint got no cash:eek:

No cash....no kidding. But top quality components.
A fantastic boat.

Just living on my own for a couple of monts, the motor and hull/motor/esc/cell's and other hardware i have bought while living at my parents home.
i had to sell some boats and cell's or else i could not buy these lipo's AND live on my own.
and about no cash, you are right, but there are some other important things to spend some cash on:thumup:
but, i try to make more $$.
in a couple of monts this boat will be running pperfect.

With the lipo's position in the pic, where is your C.G now ?
Still around the recommended 26 % ?

Xander - the esc - my apologies I overlooked that - on 10S you should be able to run the 70mm prop - I think especially with cells in parallel it will be very very fast - Lipo gives a big boost over nickel

HI gerwin,
if you read the dutch forum, its just to show i have got my lipo cell's.
There are some trimtabs and some poolnoodles mounted, i have to check evereything before i test the boat next month.:)
Andrew, whe will see with the first upcoming testrun.
I try the carbon prop i have used with the 64 gp cell's to see what are the differents with the lipo's and trimtabs.
and then step by step and after trimming and trying i wil runn a bigger prop, do the same as the past prop and so on, till i am ready to maybe run a 70mm or bigger.
or to run a prop wich is smaller but with a bigger pitch.
Bye Xander.

Xander you will like the effect of lipo
Much less weight and the acceleration is very fast and speed is much better.
You may have to change hardware settings or add some weight to keep it on the water with the higher speeds it will run.
It will definitely be the clubs fastest AC mono

Andrew,
I do not understand the part in red.
I think all you need is to move the CG forward and no reason to add weight.
I believe adding weight is only for very rough water conditions.

Harry
the thoughts behind those comments were
* removing 25% of the weight with lipo means less downforce and more speed (& lift) keeping weight the same means more speed (& lift).
Once a boat is built it may be impractical to move things forward beyond a certain point without rebuilding or inducing weird handling.
Adding weight is sometimes the quick and dirty way of bringing downforce back into line with the lift. It depends on how individual hulls respond to the extra power
Its a maybe - something that surprised me with the hulls running higher speeds but very light was the need to "tie" them down again.

Hi Guys,
I have done the first lipower runs yesterday.
I have drove the boat with a 57mm carbon prop couse of the more volts (37)
The speed was 49.37MPH the motor/esc/lipo's where cold after doing some short runs.
Next time i will have a 60mm metal prop.

New pr with my magnum, 99km or 61,7mph.
The prop i used was a 7016 from propshop.

Whieeeee!!!
New pr, with a propshop 6718 115km/h or 71,85MPH
Here is a film with one of the 110+ runs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWiX0iRjt64 The magnum is @ +/- 1 minute 40, but maybe its nice to see how whe drive all of our boats in holland.
Bye Xander!
