im new and wondering what the best method of cutting balsa wood besides a lazer

scroll saw or knife or?

Depending on how thick a good sharp hobby knife works. A scroll saw works well too if you use a fine enough blade.

I use a steel saw for thicker balsa.
One small and one large steel saw.

Red, depending on what you have at hand, If your just getting started you may not have a scroll saw, which is very good, search the posts about plans and there are some great techniques for transferring patterns, you could also use a fine jewlers saw (similar to a coping saw) and make yourself a fret board, (a board with a vee cut into it to support your work, anyway good luck, it's a great hobby, and welcome to the forum! cheers eddie
