hey avenger, well I'm a bit Older (43) , live in Jersey, (you know, where the men are men and the tourists are nervous!!! haha)but Toyz are still cool, I've got three electro vee's, a cesa, a key west, and the rest are scratchbuilts, the one I like the best is I scratchbuilt a 1930's 125 class 1 step hydro, (edwin monk plans) running a Graupner 600, 8 cells, Octura hardware, 632 prop, it's about 19" long, and while it's not the fastest thing I have ever seen, it looks really cool, zippin over the water, I was thinking of maybe scalin it up to about 24" and then make a plug, and maybe makin a few in carbon fiber, wouldn't mind seeing it with a fine design 775, and 12 cells, kickin boat from that dutch dude though,,,,, :D

Willem, (Mine runs just like that , but I just before I hit the finish line I always wake up,,,haha) anyway, what is that powered with?????? and how many cells,,,,,, anyway good luck buyin it, but sometimes building your own adds a lot of satisfaction, lot of good manufacturers out there,,,, I have no digital snaps of mine running, and definately none of it sinking haha, but I'll try to post some soon, , ps been to "The Netherlands" a few times, great country,,,,) cheers ed:D

HI!
this monster of (in total) 100cm, is "GOING TO BE" powered with a Viper 740/9 Brushless, and with 20 cells Sanyo or GP...3450mah or higher :D. pushed/matched. or something...
the ESC will problebly a Kontronik 77 3P opto 7-30cells.
This mono3 is a wet-dream! ;)

Eddie, I will be going to England (KENT) to race!
Don't know if I already have the boat then...but I will race with my mono2 with a Viper 700 motor and 12 cells Sanyo RC3000HV prototyp...top speed 60kmh. (7minutes long) but with a motor of 35dollars that's damm good speed! Yesterday I was racing with the wind blowing 7 bft! lots of waves! :D made 1 salto, during a very hard windblow! YAHOO! ;) Will also race with a mini-boat. don't know witch one yet ;) powered with a Viper 460BB SUPERRACE> with 7 TS 1700 AUP cells.

Greetings from the Netherlands!

Willem, Good luck in the UK, when you say Viper 700, I am assuming it is similar to the graupner 700/ Fine design Cordite 775, 20 cells huh,,, kickin!! and if you blow up a 35 dollar motor, then it doesn't hurt so bad, I ran a 700 on 21 cells in an electrovee,,,, it flew (for awhile... haha) doctor recommended I give up smoking so now I'm running a cordite 775bb, and a smaller prop, you ever try running 3 bladed props???? anyway saw some cool stuff regarding the eco class from Europe, You guys got a great thing going, with everyone representing their country, and right and left turns, I believe you guys run 400 to 480 size motors is that right???? there was some postings regarding an ECO class here which I didn't get around to read,,, let me know what the europe eco is,,,, It make sense to me that the one here should be equivelent, this way we can everyone on the same page,,,, anyway gotta scoot,,,, cheers ed :D

Hi Ed!

my mono2 has a Viper 700QC NEODYM RACE 9,6v 66mm, and it is a brush motor. similar as the graupner 700motors. (only better):D
The mono3 has a Viper 740/9 BRUSHLESS MOTOR.

if you want to know more about eco's...
www.eco-idc.de
I don't know a lot of eco's! Sorry

About mini's I know a lot. :D
in the Netherlands we have a mini-hydro class.
400-480 type max. also BL
max cells. 7, max size 17*50mm (nicd or nimh)
triangle course. right turn.
race time is 4 minutes.

In Germany there is also a mini-hydro class.
little different....
400-480 type max. also BL. (most guys run Brushless)
max 7 cells N800AR.
oval course.
racetime is 4 minutes.

In England (Kent) there is also a "sort of" mini class.
very different than our rules!
motor 400-480 max. ferrit magnets only. no brushless.
Max 7 cells. doesn't matter what cind of cells.
Triangle course. right turn.
race time is 5! minutes.
doesn't matter what sort of micro you have. mini-eco/mono/hydro.

See Ya!

Willem thx for that info, will check it out,,,, awhile back I bought a small kit from graupner, came with a 400 race, it was a stepped R.I.D. RIGID INFLATABLE DINGHY, we just call 'em Zodiacs, anyway it was set up for 8 cells, I am experimenting with this boat, as I got myself a bunch of lithium Ion cells from old laptop packs, now a lithium ion battery puts out about 4.3 v per cell, a 4/5 battery = roughly 1850 mah,,, pretty good so far, that would mean 8 cells = 34+ volts,,,,, at 1850 mah, or 17 volts at 3700 mah or 8.2 for 7400 mah, what's the problem too good to be true huh.... well there is a down side, apparently if I wanted to use the 17 volt configuration, the max I could pull down, would be 3.7 amps,,, after that the batteries appear to run down if you exceed this 10/c ratio, now I am not an electrical genius, and this is new technology (last 5-10 years) and it hasn't caught up with the r/c market yet, they are bloody expensive, but if you can make it work,,,,,,,,,,, But now i see graupner offering this type of cell, for the flight guys it won't be long befor they become mainstream,,, so I'll keep you posted on how this works out, I am also testing it with my 2-into 1 hughey drive for a Chris Craft I scratch built, at the momnet there are 2 graupner 500 race motors , I have 30 cells wired into a 13.2 configuration at some where around 18,000 mah I have tested without load it ran for over 45 minutes with no sign of degradation, but no load and real load are 2 different things, anyway, it will sound heavy but it actually weighs a lot less then say 18 sub c"s,,,, worth an experiment anyway,,, well gotta go,,, will try to post a pic or two soon,,, cheers ed

wow 45minutes without load?...did the motor get warm?
if so. don't even think about it when there is a FULL LOAD on that motor!woohoo. ouch! that motor will problebly burn right through the hull.
like to have a pic of that zodiac?!...
speed 400 4.8v...hihi is fun!...for 1 or 2 rides...
on 8 500AR cells. and the motor way to far timed...
VERY FAST! VERY SHORT! haha
f1 -1kg boat... :D
See Ya!
