Just got back from the 19th Annual Shoot Out.
John and Dave put down a 209 mph run. I am still loading video but all I can say is it was fassssssssst.
Lots of other great boats as well.
I will try to put a DVD together for the event.
Great weather...Dave Scott just could not get his Bud Select turbine to do over 188. He does have a new hull...built by Callan...Mystic race boats. That is his new one and it is a beauty.

Even though Utube sucks in quality here is a teaser...There is also one named 07 Shoot Out.
I have several racers that wanted me to post to Youtube so I will. Callan team of folks are just super. John Cosker hung out and talked to me for a bit.

Watch David Scott almost lose it. He said it was one of the scariest rides he has had....seems minor but you had to see how far the boat drifted at 170+ mph. It even shocked me as you can hear. Only a 100' over is a string of boats 1 mile long. He really did a great job pulling it out and you can can hear John on the throttles trying to pull it back.

What happened with the Bud Select boat? Looks to me it walked sideways on the prop. Is that right?

The one side of the boat just picked up...it actually sounded like he hit the power so much (these are the Alcohol Sterling motors that are new to this hull) that I think he just had so much power and lift....he wanted it bad and over powered too early.
He also blew a prop blade off on the turbine but came back to run it twice more.
This is held at the Lake of the Ozarks in middle Missouri.
The offshore Nationals will be in 3 weeks at the same lake. This lake has 1300 miles of shoreline.
Video is hard to get even though I am sitting on the finish line. Too much haze and heat. When they start out I am zoomed in at 1 mile.
Several of the other big cats did not make it because they just came off 3 weeks of racing. Also this is not a money event...all proceeds goes to the Fire and Rescue units at Lake of the Ozarks.
Augie IV was flying around in his chopper watching the race as well....giving David a little push to get that big Cup back to Missouri from the Callan team.
If you have not heard of Party Cove in Missouri on this lake then you have missed it...all major lakes have a Party Cove but NOTHING like this one....it is rude, crude and totally nude. Several websites on Party Cove-Missouri under goodle.
David Scott lives about 10 miles from my parents by land...we are headed over this weekend during the Holiday to say hi to him...nice guy. He also wants the video.
Jeff
Do you know if the chopper guy got a vidieo?
Would be nice

They were shooting from a chopper as well but I do not have access to that. I shoot a pretty good quality Sony mini DV video camera.
Speed Channel or Speed Vision...what ever it is was there yesterday and I helped him load equipment to get back across the lake. They had 5 cameras going from different points. He said he thought it would air in November. They shoot on Beta SP but wow do they have some cameras!

My THUNDER CAT is almost idential to the 209MPH CAT but mine only has hit 50MPH and working on 60MPH LOL
