I was just about to but the Neo 480, but i wondered if you can use r/c car motors in boats, such as the one below:

If it could work, it seems like a better deal then the Neo.
Thanks

That's exactly where most of us started. I ran 12T motors in my 8-cell scale hydros 22" long but they didn't last a long time. 15T is more appropriate.

If you are looking for a motor to put in a micro racer (as I suspect you are), I think you will find that car motors are too large and too heavy. If $$$ are a major consideration, I would recommend using the Sp 480 (#6330) rather than going to the Neo 480. The performance will still be very good. I would still recommend using the Kontronik Sun 30 speed controller (fastelectrics.com).

Sure you could put a car motor in a truck thats what I'm really into cars and trucks more than boats. U can find a lot cheaper of one to that would work probably just as good as that Reedy like Speed Jems are ok motors.
