HOTMBC October 6th Extravaganza!

Here's the report from the HOTMBC Meet of October 6th:

* The Tomcat sport hydro design by Tom Taggart is truly a cut above anything else available before. A dominant design. I only wish someone would duplicate it in fiberglass. (Brian Buass are you listening?)

* Kevin's HPR 115 was beautifully done, but suffered from a defective Mega motor on it's maiden voyage which also destroyed the ESC. We'll see it in two weeks after Mega gets it right.

* Tom Taggart beat Jim Vaughn by almost half a lap in LSH and in the last heat of P-Sport he spanked Vaughn using boats of the "Tomcat" design! Incredible.

* Newcomer Mike Carlson has built one of the most beautiful Tomcat hydros ever, and it's as fast as most P-Sport brushless boats with only 12 NimH cells and an OSE 700 brushed motor!!!! Amazing.

Let's do it again guys!

For round-nosed designs (NOT shovels, as Tom is eager to point out - and he oughta know!) the Tomcat and the larger derivative Rampage are very impressive. I can't see any picklefork hull besting the LSH boats of Tom and MikeC. Not only is the straightaway speed very high for both boats - they both turn very well too. With no really good LSH hull currently available, it is too bad no one moulds a Tomcat for sale. It would be class of the field, since it handily beats both the Aussie Shovel and the Dark Horse. :yeah:

Man you guys are going to give me a big head. However, a fast boat doesn't compensate for hitting mark and flipping over. I would be more than happy to give (for free) the plans for the TOMCAT to any serious party who would like to mold it in fiberglass for personal use or for selling.

The next HOTMBC race date is next Saturday 10/20 starting at 10:00. Should be quite a crowd and some great racing action.:yeah:

x642 . trying to see if can hit mid to high 40's
