Where can I find information on the dates, etc. of this event. I know it is in Scottsdale in March, but is there more detailed info available (BTW - the lake it is at is only 1.5 miles from where I grew up - I can remember when they were digging the hole for the lake!!).

Thanks.

Bump

Really, nobody has any info on this event?? All I can get anyone to tell me is that it is in March 2008 at the nitro lake on McKellips Road in Scottsdale, AZ.

So I guess I'll just head over there and stay the month. I'll show up every weekend to see if that is the magic one :)

dont want to leave you hanging, the race is march 7th through the 9th i beleive. The guys that run it are trying to get another location set up because the current lake will be drained for repairs. I am sure there will be more info as it comes available. Anybody please correcte if i am wrong.

Thanks. The dates are what I really wanted to know. Hopefully they can track down another site. The Indian Bend wash is strung with lakes. Hopefully they can get access to another one.

How about that silly lake they made next to ASU in the Salt River???

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your interest in WW IV. A formal announcement will come soon. I just don't want to get the cart in front of the horse with regards to our pond.

I have petitioned the City of Gilbert for use of a pond there and once I get confirmation, we'll formally announce our race. Scottsdale pond may still be an option, they just can't guarantee that it will have water in it in March! If it does, we're racing in Scottsdale.

We are shooting for the dates Chris mentioned. Mar 7-9th. We like to get 2 classes in on Friday afternoon, then race all day Sat/Sun.

Stay tuned...

I can't wait!

Bill, it is going to be a blast! Just like a TD Glider contest only.. err.. different...

Lets hope we can get another open mono or 2 so we can make it a class....

Yep, I'm looking forward to it. Got a free place to stay less than 15 minutes away (south end of the 101 in Chandler) and it is my hometown!!

Even if it is in Gilbert, still close for me!! The Valley in spring. Nothing beats it (No John, NOT the Central Valley).

Yep, just like a TD contest John. Except for the boats. And the water. And the motors. And no wings (except maybe hydros). And no landings (Yippee!!!). Other than those couple of tiny differences they are the same thing!!

I hope they end up with a big pond. It would be great if we can have 3 open mono's (or more) and 3 1/8th scales (or more) this comming year!

Unfortunately, the Scottsdale pond and the Gilbert pond will only hold a 1/8 course. But don't worry, the nitro guys can run there (Scottsdale) and there won't be 5 boats battling for lanes. It will give you good practice with holding the pins...

Crossroads Park. 2155 E Knox Rd in Gilbert. Still waiting on a green light from them. Once I have it, a formal notice will be made.

Gee, sounds like you guys might have a few more ponds down there. The wife (weather channel junkie) told me Phoenix got 4" today so far. The radar wasn't looking too good for you guys either.

Looks like I'm going to be shut in this weekend too. Predicting 5 to 8 of the white stuff for us on Saturday in MinneSNOWta.
