How do you hook up the rudder on Chris Fines 12-24 cell hardware. There is not a clear line to the post on the side of the rudder. The arm is in the way and there is no straight way to get to the screw on the side.

Ray,
I'm not sure I understand your question. I'll post some pics. Click on the thumnails.
The first picture is the Hydro version the others are the Mono versions. Chris includes all the components to configure the hardware either way. Oh ya, The strut and strut bracket on the Hydro aren't from the Fine kit, but the rudder is, which is what you seemed to be questioning.

Hope this helps,
Dick

Not sure about which hardware you are using, but I just ordered a cat. complete with the rudder & all the hardware setup by Chris @ Fine Design. I'm kinda new at setting up hardware and didn't want to fill holes. The new setup will be on my door in 2 days. Chris was really helpful and patient with my questions. Try picking his brain over the phone? Can't imagine him not helping. LOL...Craig

I knew that post was not clear because it is hard for me to understand. With Dicks pictures maybe it will be clearer. The connection on the hydro is on the inside and the mono is on the outside. On my mono the connection needs to be on the inside and the rudder arm attached to the strut is in the way how do I get around this.

ray, I Just bought a mono set-up for the E-vee, from chris, Told him to just select a good package, but when it came, there were no guidelines, So I Called him and have to say, He spent nearly 30 minutes on the phone with set up advice, He's this way bout most everything, so I'd give him a call,,,, he will definately walk you through it, step by step, another guy in the club, bought some stuff from chris, and even after the guy set it up to chris instructions there was still some doubt, chris made some time and set the boat up personally, now that's service, (try getting that from your average Hobby store) I am not talking about you guys, the help available here is unbelievable, I am just sorry I missed all this advice for so long, cheers ed

as the discussion was Mono set-ups I would like to take the liberty to ask a question too, if it's ok whereas Chris recommends the rudder on the right side (my set up has the separate mounts, if i mount the rudder dead center (electro vee) will I lose much turning performance, I would like to be able to go both directions<<<< cheers ed:confused: :D

The rudder dead center will give you the best left and right hand turning performance. My transom is too small to mount it dead center on the transom. I will give Chris a call thanks.
