what year will the bardahl be modeled after? do the '67 its the BEST! let me know when the bardahl is for sale!!!!! also, do you have a web site, if not, do you know if you might? and another thing, what kind of hardware do you sell? do you have any pictures?

Yes, it's the 67/68 U-40 & U-1 Bardahl. It is also the 69 Notre Dame and the 70 Timex and so-on. This hull is faster than the old classic high profile round nose. It may be a little faster than the pickle-fork too.
My brother has one that has been clocked @ 35MPH with a mild 7-cell pack and a stock 15 turn Trinity D3.5 and an X432. It corners VERY flat without loosing speed.
This will be a great hull for the 1/16th hydro class.

Is wood less weight than plastic or glass? or is it stronger ?
Lastly If it is not Why use it?

i think i can answer this! because it is a kit that you build with your own two hands. not a out of the box type kit that you just install the hardware. you have to place all the stringers and bulkheads, deck the hull and so on. it is for the guy who wants to build the entire thing. just my 2c worth.

I'm about 3/4 done with a BBY Volcanic Splash and let me tell you there is alot more to it than just putting on hardware wood has to go in there to make it stronger, it must be stright when you join the hull, It has to be sealed and a few more things that need attention (I'm sure this is nothing compaired to a full wood build) but it is still fun Is wood better if so why?:D

i guess that would be left for you to decide on your own. i am building a 1/10 all wood hydro and as far as i can tell it is pretty strong. and very rigid(doesnt twist a bit). my suggestion is to try one of thos all wood boats and see for yourself. i will most likely buy one for myself soon but not untill i finish my first boat. one project at a time. all i can say is it is an involved process building a all wood boat. but the name of the game is all about having fun with them.

Wow Thanks for all the response! We are getting started on building a website so that'll be up and running soon.
The bardahl kits should be in production within a couple weeks.
Wood boats are the best in my opinion(thats what I sell :) They're very light, very strong, and fun to build. If you smack up a wood hull it's pretty easy to repair.
I use any hardware that you want. I'm having a sale on rtr sport packages. For $275 you get the hul a JR python radio with a Dynamite esc, 6 cell battery pac, charger, and trinity stock motor.
Thanks, Chris

The construction of this one is like the "76 Sprint Hull" pickle-fork from the Dec. 2001 RCBM. It is a different hull, but built pretty much the same.
With a good build job the bare wood hull will be just over 1/4lb. Painted with shaft & rudder but no motor, ESC, radio or battery it will be just over 1/2lb. It is a VERY stiff hull.

Hey Garry -
Did you guys make it out to Murrayhill pond on Sunday? I couldn't make it out there until about 1:45, and nobody was there. Didn't see you at Starbucks, either. I had to find a sitter for my daughter and drop my wife off at work before I could make it out there.
Let me know the next time you plan on heading out, I'd really like to see your boats.

Rats! We must have just missed. It was cold enough that we didn't hang around too much after the batteries were drained.
My brother and I will be there about noon this comming Sat. He will have his 67 Bardahl. This is the boat of the kit that Chris will be selling. It is an impressive running boat.

I'll try to head out there this weekend. I'm going to try to head up to Puyallup sometime, though. I want to meet Dick Crowe, and take a look at his SAW boat. I
I don't know if wood is cheaper but it is strong and does not twist and you can still repair it cheaply when damaged. It is just as light and you can still feel like a craftsman if you want to, assembling the hull yourself. I have bought several kits from Chris on Ebay and at $40 I think I got a steal. I had him build one for me and the quality was better than my own so I know I was 100% satisfied and he only charged me $40 to build sand and seal it for me. Some sites out there are marking it up $100 to build the hull not sealed. I'm glad someone is making it afordable for new people to enjoy this awesome sport. I can't wait to see that website. Thanks CC Boat Works!!!!!!!!!

i must say that building things can be the most rewarding way to succeed, esspecially if you enjoy what you are doing. Hydros are way cool to build the best part i find is painting and most of all putting it on the water, (with nothing going drastically wrong)!:D

Thanks for the good word Pete! Also thanks for adding my
Miss Bardahl Pic.
I should be getting the plans from Garry soon. As soon as they get here I will be offering kits. Keep an eye open!
I'm also working on a great rigger. The prototype is being built this week. Look out Dick Crowe this boat is gonna blow the sponsons off your record setter:D

I got to see all three of the boats in that picture run last weekend, the yellow one seemed to be the best all around performer. Nice and smooth, with good characteristics through the corners.
I guess this just all depends on how the boats are trimmed out (given a sound assembly), but they were all pretty impressive to me. They were all running mild mods, but were all easily exceeding 30 mph. When I left the pond, I drove parallel to where the hydros were running straight, and at 30 mph, they pulled right past me. Primitive way of judging speed, but impressed me none the less.

The plans are in, and production has started. I'll be able to take orders within a week. A 1/12th scale version is also in the works.

Sourcerer001 (B),, Glad you could get with us last Sat. Next time we will all have a little more time and we will have you drive one of the boats. Then we could see which of the three “new” boats is faster.
Chris, All the rest of the stuff is off and you should see it this week. If not, let me know and I can trace it. There are a few pictures of the Bardahl in the water. But when it is airing out, my little camera and I can’t keep up (but the traffic in the background is clear).

Next time, I should have a couple of my boats ready to go, and have a sitter for my daughter. I don't really trust her around water, she's pretty inquisitive, and those ducks are just a little too enticing.

My kids wore life vests to races for years.
