Ace hardware hobbies ?!?!

Hey guys,

I was just browsing around and found Ace Hardware Hobbies... 1st... are hardware stores getting into the hobby buisness? I heard a craft store was buying up hobby shops down here... whats up with that?

2nd. take a look at their website... this used to be someone elses website... it looks super familiar but I cant put my finger on it... who did they buy out? http://www.ace-hobbies.com/Menu/index.html

Hi Donnie,

I don't know if this is something new or not, we have had at least 2 ACE Hardware stores in our area that have sold hobby gear as long as I can remember. I always figured it something the owners did on their own, but maybe not.

The story I've heard is that the owner of one particular Ace Hardware franchise was an r/c guy, and decided to sell the stuff from his store. It's been around for as long as I can remember. He may have opened several more stores by now, but I'm not sure.
