Hi all,

I am thinking about building a large (5 ft) shovel nose hydro for gas power. It would be a scaled up model based on the Arno XI kit by Amati. The kit will provide me with the bulkhead shapes and spacing, so all I really need to know is what kind and thinkness of wood to use. Any suggestions? I've never built anything this large, so I have no idea what would be appropriate. If anyone has any gas or large nitro experience out there please help. Thanks.

Zach

I would use 1/4 inch light aircraft pylwood ( Bud Nosen) for the bulkheads and 1/32nd inch plywood for the skin. Then give the whole thing a coat of fibreglass.
