Hey guys,

The first meeting of 2009 will be at my house on January 18th. Fred will be sending an email in a bit with my address and such. Anybody that doesn't get it and wants to come can drop me a note. h2o-racing@comcast.net

Some things I know we'll be discussing:
officer elections
adjusting our N2 sport spec
adding the UL1 motor to SSH
making Q sport a points class
2008 MMEU race schedule

Another thing we like to do at the first meeting is showing off what we've been working on. Always a high point for me. I've actually drawn up some rigger plans you guys just have to check out. Good time to ask plenty of "how to" questions. So bring your projects in what ever state they are in.

There will be plenty of time to discuss the nats. I've already figured out the budget. Not sure how much detail we'll need to get into on that now. I've got NAMBA working on some paperwork the state needs before we can pin the date with Island Lake. The park director seems to like the idea of us being there. That's half the battle.

Our meetings are always informal so come on by.

Terry,

I hope you mean the meeting will be held in 2009. 2008 was not the best of years, at least the last quarter. I will be glad when it's over. I am being optimistic about the coming year. See you at the meeting.

MY WAY, You'd be reading by candlelight if every one went along with a group theory. Sorry meant to say look at the pictures... Hey I would love to see 20 SSH boats show up and see how it goes. It was a suggestion, but fell on deaf ears.. I'm just a member who wants to run as many boats and heats as I can.

Flexability comes with age............:moon:

I do have another suggestion !!!! How about talkin to Larry and have an invitation to our club with every Electric boat he sells. ie, SV27, UL-1 Let's push for a membership drive. Print up a real nice color or B/W invite. We know the schedule, print it early and see how it goes. It can't hurt and we can gain membership and young drivers as well. Any thoughts ?

Flexibility? I haven't been able to touch my tows in 10 years.

Meeting was painless. Light turnout. The snow in my yard is 2 feet deep. My street didn't even get plowed. We're a pretty casual gang of misfits.

I'll be typing up some minutes. I have the time! haha:thumup:

Things that you need to know right away are:
Core council victims for 2009 are Fred, Joe, Jay, and myself
N2 is stay S cans but we're allowing 2P to 10000 mah.
SSO will be 4 minutes with no UL1 motors
SSH was written so that the UL1 was legal from day one. At least for MMEU it was. Not because we're brilliant. We had no idea at the time. So no change
We added Q sport as an actual points class.

There were a number of open discussions about various things that I'll try to summarize in the minutes.

Chuck, we have 4 classes. Run all them suckers. Although, I can't manage 4 classes myself at the moment and I already have the boats.

You always take me why to serious lad. Sit back and smell the roses. Oppps, ya can't with all that white crap. Don't make me drive back out there.

Can't afford Q P or what ever the killer class is.

Re-printed

It's a great idea. We tried that before but we didn't do it as well as Mike did on the flyer that he emailed to me a bit ago. He's volunteered to get it done. I'd like to place those at every hobby shop we can think of. P&D, Prop Shop, Joe's, Larry's. Can't hurt. Might even help the local stores sell one or two boats.

You know I have a couple of hobby shops not close, but not too far away. There is a hobby shop in Hillsdale and Battle Creek. The more flyers we get out there, the better chance that we will get in touch with new potential racers.

Was reading the thread on MCX and noticed the motors for LSO. Is it a misprint or are we allowing the UL-1 motor for LSO as well as LSH as well as SV27 and Black Jacks?

It is my understanding that for our club racing only the UL1 motor is not allowed for the club LSO class. The nationals will be whatever the N.A.M.B.A. rules allow for 2009. Maybe one of our "core" guys will chime in and clarify this.

Norm, Chuck,

Please read post #13. For Club racing we will allow the SV27 and BJ motors for LS0. For SSH Club racing we will be allowing the SV27, BJ and UL1 motors.

For the Nationals we are allowing all 3 motors for both LSO and SSH.

Just looking for a clarification, don't want to be confused here. I think a SV will fly with the UL in it.................:burnout:
