Are there any FE or LIPO specific safety rules for IMPBA? I thought I read something about the subject last year but cant seem to find anything in the IMPBA rule book. My son and I wil be doing our first race in the novice class in the end of June and as far as I know we're the only FE's in District 12. This may sound kind of corny but I think first impressions are important and I want to make sure we have our $h!t together.

The short answer is no, not at this time. What are you doing now for LiPo safety?
What is the novice class, do you have a link to the race flyer?

Thanks,
Doug

Novice class is open with no riggers. No age limit that anyone is aware of. My club Pres said I could run my P-mono Titan with the B-mono's but for my first race, I wanted to do novice. On my first outing I'd hate to take someone out who is running for points.

I was going to adopt safety rules I have read from other district's flyers such as charge Lipos in/on a fire proof surface or container. Have a extinguishing agent such as sand or fire extingisher with me. Do not leave charging batteries unattended. Am I missing anything?

Thanks Doug!

Mike it sounds like you have it covered!

The "Novice" class is a neat idea, good deal!!!

You're doing the right thing. Enjoy the racing and when you are comfortable get in on the B mono/P mono racing, that will be a blast!!

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks Doug. I was a little discouraged at the lack of FE's in my district but I figure someone has got to first so I will give it a year or two. The few test and tunes I have attended have been ecouraging. People are curious. They check out my boats and ask allot of questions. Some already run brushless planes and helos. So my goal is to have fun and learn to race with my son. If I can't get any participation out of my club, I'll just have to build an FE open offshore.:yeah:
