Well, if scraping with a fingernail does't work, you could try a blade. If it still leaves a lot of gunky stuff you could try using rubbing alcohol and cotton or a rag. Worst case scenario I would wet sand it off.

What kind of hull is this? ABS plastic or fiberglass, etc.

yeah the n-vee is ABS you might want to try some nail-polish remover! dont take my word for it tho it worked on my hull but for yours it might just melt it! i think that i used the non-acetone stuff

you can use nail polish remover. It works on some glues.
Plus it will remove the sticky after gunk!!

Use a hair dryer to heat up the sticker. If it is a really hot and sunny day leave the boat in the direct sun. Most sticker glue, including cut vinyl is heat sensitive.

Don't use a commercial heat gun...obviously it is probably too hot for plastic.

Remove the loosened sticker with your thumbnail.

You may need to use some mild solvent to remove the residue glue.

try a little heat from a hair dryer and then some wd-40 for the sticky residue.

Here's something you may or may not know- my FAVORITE sticker removal fluid is Ronsonol lighter fluid. I use it for everything, kids leaving stickers on things in the house, wife leaving NASCAR race parking sticker on windshield for a couple months, yearly city sticker removal (forget scraping the gunk off with razor blades, this is MUCH easier!), you name it. It removes many types of residue from different types of stickers.

Basically, I just squirt a little on a paper towel, and wipe. Then, I peel, then I wipe, flip the paper towel over, re-wet it, and wipe again, repeating until all gone. NOTHING works better from what I've tried. You essentially just wipe the gunk away. Scrub to loosten, then wipe away. Nothing's easier.

Try it, you'll like it! At least if, for some strange reason, it doesn't work for THIS sticker problem, you'll have it for any other sticker issues you might have. :) I've used it on a number of plastics without harm, but try a spot that's not too visible first, just to be on the safe side.

the heat idea seems to be the best so far. i have tried numerous things with no luck. if after you have pulled the decals off and notice a good amount of sun fading, buy Rubbing Compound from and full size boat shop. like wax with small abrasive stuff in it to make it new again!

Hyper, 3m also makes an aerosol adhesive remover, works very good on the glue, believe it or not Olive oil works pretty darn good, and you can lick your fingers while doing it LOL, seriously try it, I like zippifrieds too,,, I am addicted to Zippo lighters , have about 20, anyone know if there was ever a hydro racing one??? cheers eddie
