View Full Version : New Electric Club near Tampa

We are the West Florida Model Boat Club. We are located in Land O' Lakes,
just north of Tampa. We are welcoming all new members. We welcome fast
electrics, scale, sailing, etc. Just has to be an R/C Boat.
The more the merrier! We are currently working on getting our own lake. In
the meantime, we run at one
of our member's home who lives on a lake. We get together and run about once
a month. When we have
our own lake, we can run any time.

We hope to grow the membership so that we can have sailing regattas, fast
electric races, Scale rallies, etc.

Sorry, no nitro/gas due to noise restrictions.

Best of luck fellas. I would love to come over some time. Keep the dates posted. Do you have a NAMBA or IMPBA charter yet?

Yes, we have our NAMBA charter and Florida incorp as a non-profit. Could we get listed as a club on the board? That way we would have a central place to list races and info.

Super, Ray! Will get after it this week. Love to come by and run with you fellas sometime. Do you have a schedule or anything planned???

Ya just missed it! Ran yesterday at a lake in Sarasota that twice hosted the IMPBA internats (since abandoned by the Nitro guys). I got Ol' Reed to come down too!.

We are running once a month either in Land o Lakes or down in Sarasota.

P-Mono, P-Spec Sport Hydro, P-Spec Rigger, SV27 and Q-Offshore for starters. About 10 guys in the club, so usually enough for 3 boat heats, except for P-Mono where 5+ boat heats (carnage) are the rule.

it was great! ackerman state park is the lake in Sarasota just off exit 210 I-75, excellent course!

I think we will have Q hyrdo too....
