I am putting together an order for FMA Fury receivers. You can see them at https://www.fmadirect.com/html/2000_products.htm?cat=1 - the ones you are looking at are 404FM75.

These are 4-channel FM receivers on 75 MHz, and are available in either Futaba or JR compatibility (ie, negative or positive shift). Certain Hitec transmitters will work with either type.

In order to get the best price for all of us, I need to get the quantity as high as possible. Right now we are looking at about $55 for receiver with xtal - note that FMA's price on the website DOES NOT include the crystal and that would add $11 more.

I will accept orders for these until 2/15 (two weeks from now) and then put in one big order with them.

These are the receivers I use in my boats.

I will be talking with FMA at an upcoming show about asking them to honor the warranty after waterproofing them. Right now, having me waterproof them will void your warranty. So will getting them wet. ;)

Send an email to me at montana@fast.net specifying how many you want, which channel number, and whether you want Futaba or JR mode. Also tell if you want it waterproofed definitely, or only if still warrantied, or not waterproofed.

If there is anything else you want me to get you from FMA at the same time, I can do that too. The prices will be mildly discounted from their website (they do a very short discount, even shorter than I give to my dealers!).

Hello Andy,

Don't the Xtals have to match the manufacturer TX Xtal? I mean JR and JR, Hitec/Hitec, not JR/Hitec.

Paul.

Matt,

Send them on.

No, that is a very false impression.

The xtals for the receivers need to match the specifications of the receiver manufacturer.

If you buy an FMA xtal, you need the same xtal regardless of the transmitter manufacturer. The receiver itself sets positive/negative shift.

You specify a channel number from 61-90 and you will get the right xtal for your receiver (providing of course you tell me Futaba or JR mode).

If you want your receiver waterproofed, the crystal will be a permanent part.

Hello Andy,

Thanks, I was told when I bought my Novak XXL's I needed the JR Xtals and couldn't use anything else. I'm going through my stuff now and I know I'll need at least 2 of them, can't beat the price.

Thanks again, Paul.

I'm not familiar with the Novack rxs, but my guess is Novak specifified use of JR xtals for JR operation. Many older radio designs did this.

I should have been clearer on the emphasis - I was only talking about FMA receivers.

Andy, have you ever used AeroPlate? I just bought some for Chris F and wanted to know if I could trust it?

I use CorrosionX Marine (same stuff) inside my servo electronics.

Andy,

One question I forgot to ask, does this receiver have a battery connector. I cannot see one in the picture on fma, but since you never use BEC, I am wondering where the batt connector is.

Voepal you can use any input for the batt, but that brings a good question to mind do they have DSC can you just plug into one of the channelsand use the DSC?

It's a 4-channel receiver - unless you are driving a 4-channel boat you have at least one free channel connector.

No DSC - those are manufacturer-specific connections.

If you want a direct way to control your servos with fantastic precision, get a DPM from SubTech www.rcboats.com

Y'all are lucky!

I got stuck at work a little last night, and then the guy I carpool with had to stop and pick up groceries, so I got home after FMA was closed.

I will be ordering on Monday morning now. If you want me to order anything from FMA for you, let me know by Sunday night at the latest.

Right at this minute, if we get one more Fury receiver order they will be for 53.50 including xtal. Extra Xtals are $8.00 each.

LAST CALL!
