Ok, as soon as it arrives I'll be putting together my new UL-1 hull.
I intend to race it in LSH, using a flex drive, and a 8.4 motor.
Here are my questions...
1- Do I mount the motor in the same place as the manual says for a straight shaft?
2- Should I offset the motor and shaft to the right of the center line?
3- Where should the stuffing tube exit the hull?
4- At what depth is a good starting place for the prop shaft?
5- Is the CG the same place?
Any tips regarding this hull would be helpfull.

Thanks Brian.

Well, lets see...

1. I mounted mine a little ahead of where is shows in the manual (about 3/4) of a inch ahead of the sponson stiffener)
2. I didn't offset it.. and mine goes straight.
3. I had mine exit the hull here http://www.kelownafastelectrics.com/pictures/renegade-07.jpg
4. set the prop depth as per the manual
5. I found the CG to be in a good location. visit my website below, look under hydroplanes, and Renegade and I have more pictures. There are also two other UL's there with some pictures (Wildfire, and Budweiser).

I found ride pads are a must, make sure you keep the hull flat when you are building it.. yoy don't have any twisting in the hull. mount the rudder in the same location as per the manual. all should go well for you then.

Thanks, I'll try your suggestions as soon as the hull arrives. Here's a few more questions...
- How did you glue the alum. ride pads on?
- Did you put a shotski diode on the 8.4 motor?

The aluminum ride pads where glued on with medium CA, first the plastic and the aluminum was scuffed with 50 grit sand paper.. then glue it on.. worked well. no problems. I only use a shotkey diode if I'm using a rc-hydros ESC, other than that I just add some capacitors on either side and thats it.
