Hi everybody,

I've been debating for a while about getting another boat. I have an older hull ( prather 40" deep vee ) that was an outboard layup with no internal stringers. I thought this would be a fun sport hull as a FE setup.

The more i think about it though, it is a very old hull, and just may not be as structurally sound as it was like 15-20yrs ago when it was new. Also the motor/esc/and battery combo needed to push it adequately may be a bigger jump than I need coming out of a sv27 setup.

Guess I'm looking for something that would be a good hull for a 6s, maybe 8s at the max, setup. I've really been intrigued by some of the threads on the cat hulls I've seen like the sprint cat. But also really like the Titan hull as well.

You guys have any thoughts, suggestions etc?

Larry,

A lot depends upon the hull form and what you want to set the boat up to do.
I've seen a lot of "older" hulls perform very well, especially with the new LIPO batteries and higher efficiency motors.

In fact smoe of the older hulls, built for nitro or gas motors are heavier layups and are stronger than the newer FE Layups. Just because it doesn't have stringers (rails) it should not be a problem. Why don't you bring the boat out to the club meeting this saturday? I'm sure that you would get some good suggestions and feedback on just how to set it up.

With 6S youve got plenty of power options and plenty of power to play with.
