THAT is TOO FREAKING COOL!!
ONE of these days... I have to get one of those Turbine motors to play with. They just sound too cool.
Nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Darin,
if you know ,that this guys are normaly flighing planes just want to see how the jet workes on a boat.Next they want to try it on a mono hull ,they think it would handle easy than a tunnel.
By the way ,Congrates for your work with Horizon Hobby .Nice boats you invent ,spezial my love, Outbord Tunnel hull with outbord .
It like my work i have done with Graupner as i start all this surface pircing propeller things ,most unknowen in Germany at this time 1983 .But much has changed .

I've seen one in a Scale Hydro, and here is a clip of my next ProBoat project... Decided to upgrade the Miss Geico (Just kidding, but it would be KOOOOLLLL!!!)

15 x 2 horsepower he is dreaming , a 3080 can easily lay waste to one of those turbines . actual horsepower is somewhere around 6.5 per unit
Not taking away from the boat he has done an awesome job and its a beautiful boat but it is no match for twin 3080's

No Peter it wouldn't. The rules state that boats have to be driven by a water propellor.

I saw a turbine powered mono at the Toledo Show last April. It had 2 turbines installed and the guys mentioned they were aiming for 100 MPH. This was a fairly large hull, around 72" or so. There was a turbine powered scale hydro there a year or two ago. Don't know who owned it as there were too many people standing around gawking.
Somebody out there has got to do John Campbell's "Buebird II". Curious as to see how fast a jet propelled RC boat would go.
As a side note some guys here in the states flew a turbine jet past 335 MPH and it's rumored somewhere in Britain one actually broke the sound barrier.
cheers and a whiff of JP4 exhaust.
