The sandpits that I've been to hardly qualify as swamps!
This video (http://www.rc-hydros.com/videos/Slo-Mo-12.mpg) was taken in the early 90's about an hour north of Lansing.

I wonder what kinda carnage two of those boats could do to each other if they collided with those airplane props. Hmmmm....

Hi Frank,
I had built an electric one about 22" long with a car can on 6 cells with a 6x3 prop and we ran it on the snow. What a rocket!
I took it to work one day and my friend (http://www.shadowgallery.com/Carl.htm) got his finger too close to the motor when it glitched. It made hamburger there - he is lucky he didn't lose it - especially since he's a musician.
This is one area where nitro is safer than electric. When a nitro engine whacks you, it will do serious damage but the impact is often enough to stop the motor from running. When an electric hits, the current goes up as it tries to force its way through your finger. Once clear, it keeps on running and tries it again and again. That's what did Carl's finger so much damage.

A project that is in my mind but probaly won't be able to build until next year is a Airboat running on a 26cc trimmer motor on a belt drive to keep the weight really low. I know it wont be that fast but if you saw my yard you would want to build one to.
Heres an interesting webpage: http://www.rcairboats.com/mikes_boat.htm

Eric
