I am looking for a decent starter boat but as a newbie to fast electric boats, I am not sure what to look for or buy.

I have invested in R/C electric cars over the last few years so I think I have most of the support gear that will be needed. I have lots of sub-C cells and a decent charger plus a pistol radio or two and that should work fine.

I am leaning towards maybe a decent 6-8 cell hull. The Bandit monos look nice, but I have always loved a hydro. Riggers are probably the fastest on the pond but don't look very real to me.

What would you guys recommend? Anyone have a decent setup that they are looking to sell?

steve, so as not to suffer sticker shock right off the bat, I personally would recommend the key west, or the graupner electrovee, the basic hull of the key west is 47-48 buckaroos, and the evee is around 30, depending on how handy your are hardware can be made or had for under a hundred, add to it a 700 motor, (around 33-60 bucks depending on how fast you want to go) and a really good esc water cooled (another hundred) this is new prices and only one opinion, search "first boat" "key west" "Evee" and there will be many more opinions, good luck cheers eddie

Steve,
I have a 6-8 cell abs BBY OvalMaster with hardware and servo that I am planning to sell. It comes with all hardware, servo, propshaft. I broke the rudder this summer and had planned to fix it before selling...but if you want it...I am willing to drop the price accordingly.
Can include prop and motor if needed....just add radio, controller, and batts...and go!
Pic is attached, email if you are interested to discuss price.
