I am looking for hatch ideas for the Electro Vee. I would like something a little easier to tape down than the factory mold.
Pictures would be the most helpful.
Thanks

I think I can handle this on Sunday, Charlie....but here's a primer:
Cut the hull opening flush. Install some strips underneath so that a flush hatch cover has something to lay on. The strips could probably be either fibreglass or ABS and should be wide enough to adhere under the deck and extend a half inch or so into the opening.
Buy another sheet of ABS and cut and fit it to the exact dimension of the flush opening in the deck. It'll lay on the strips you've attached.
I'll probably buy some airplane canopies to put on mine, and I've also got some 1/12 scale driver figures that I picked up.
BTW, anybody know of a website that sells tinted airplane canopies in a variety of sizes?

Doug, I used a thunder tiger helo canopy on my key west came out very well, tower hobbys sells canopies but as spare you have to know planes when you are looking for them, if you want the part number I am sure the wrapper is still in my shop, (not as bad as dan's but I am working on it LOL)
cheers eddie
BTW I used some rectangular Plastistruct pieces under the hatch, and this stuff is strong, just a thought

For clear canopies in a variety of sizes see the Sig Manufacturing web site. www.sigmfg.com
The Kyosho Electric P-51 has a smoke tinted canopy.

Clear canopies will now work. I found this article on tinting them.
