i have a sv 27 stock motor and speed control with lipo sheild what batterys would be a good choice seen turnagy 6000mah 7.4 2s 25 c packs cheap what kind of useable run time could i expect

Depends on how the boat is set up, how much you are on and off the gas and what prop you are running. I would also go for at least 35c batterys.
What lake is that??

About 80 amps, 40x55 prop and 5000mah 35C batts = about 4:30 mins in run time.

been running a x440 with 7.4 4000mah nimh

have considered ditching sv27 and switching to titan 29 with sv guts

Just switch to lipos first, boat will pick up lots of mph because they will keep their voltage under load unlike the nimh.

ok took the plunge bought some turnigy 6000mah 2cell 25cont hope i made a decent choice got them for 28.00 a peice
