Just got in from a test run. I just got done re vamping a prather fun crusier with a decked out homie. This thing has its fare share of home made parts on it.
It run fairly good, I would say 35 or so, maybe 40, maybe... (Im trying to be conservative)
I got it up on the pipe and rolling along and I was turning at 1/4 throttle to come back to me, radio glitched and it didnt turn sharp. Ended up running it into the bank of the pond. No damage luckily.
This thing sounded BAD!
i want a gas boat now, going to start on a crackerbox soon (got the plans 1.27m) and put a ryobi in it. How is the prop connected?
cheers

Its a flex cable setup. I havent seen a large scale gas boat with anything but flex cable, 1/4" diameter also.
If your building hardware for this build it strong!

Well the crank case is stuffed, its been ported and polished, and its had some work done to the head, the flywheel lightned.
Other than that Im not to sure, I didnt do it. Just cleaned her up for sale.

The best mod for a weedeater motor is a carby, then adding water cooling, and consequently removing the fanblades, clutch, and lightening the flywheel.
The best weedeater motor i have used is a Sthil fs48, from the top of my head, with the mods, i got that thing to turn to 17000rpm, way cool and smooth motor,
