Hello guys,i hope that you could help me!
Let me begin!I made an outrigger based on TOM MOOREHOUSE
plane from intl waters! It was using a D3.5(10*3) geardrive motor powering an 1.6 ocutura prop!Like everything in life,it has to finish, and it finished,my comutator opened like a flower! Not a nice thing to watch!I was using 8 2200 nimh HILLīS cells, but i have 2 new ones in my pit box!I have already a brushless sensorless controller,as i have to a brushed controller!
On propīs i have an 1.6, a 1740 and a 2137/3.
What do you think i should do since i want my boat to GO FASSSSST

-By a lightning man motor and put in the gearbox, and letīs rock!
-By one of the new ones AVEOX 27/39/15 sensorless motor(Great del at 149$ Bucks, and more 2 cells and have a P-Hydro!
-By a mega midi or mega mini and buy two cells,or stay with 8 D.Drive respectively!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Best Regardīs from Gerardo Brandão(PORTUGAL) and keep doing the GOOD WORK!;)

I think for what your trying to do your over proping. Your comm it ""stuffed"" because you had applyed way to much amperage to it by not letting it hit high rpms. Have you ever touched a 100 watt light globe, thats probobly how hot it was. Doing this you are putting tremendous load on the esc and the motor. You can go reasonably fast with an 05 motor. To help you need to know the Gear Ratio

To put it simple i have a fun run rigger which has a 12 double, gear ratio 1.69:1 on a X438 "i think". running 8 rc2400's. This thing runs around 4 mins and the motor is luke warm.

The d3.5 should have been fine on 1.86:1 or shorter 10/3is the most efficient on a 10 turn ferrite

If you hve a good sensorless controller I would get a Hacker 50-8L you will have a lot of fun and some serious speed
