HELP!!!
I have an El Lobo II in carbon fiber and can not get it to run correctly. Can anyone help? I need to know where the center of gravity should be on this hull. I am running a 8.4V speed 700 with an octura 640 prop in surface drive. Changing props is not a problem. This being a stepped hull, I do not know where to balance it.
If it aint fun, you,re working too hard........ :)

What kind of problems are you having?

I'am running 12 2400 cells and the boat doesn't seem to get out of the water. It seems to sit very low in the stern:confused:

Do you mean it sits low when the boat is not moving?

The EL Lobo 2 and the 3 are not stepped hulls.

The regular ellobo is. Ray

Ray,
Then it must be an El Lobo. The hull does not seem to want to break free of the water when it is running. It seems like it just weighs too much.
Chris,
Yes it is the hull I got from Jonney;)

What i would do first is, try and get the batteries as far back as you can and keep them as close to center as possible. If you have an adjustable strut try and point the back of the prop higher than the front, this will help pop the bow up. Another thing that maybe a problem is that the motor is shot. With that motor/cell/prop combo, you should be shooting along fairly fast. You may think that your setup is too heavy, well i don't think that's a problem. I had the exact same boat and i ran 8, 12, 14, 16, and 18 cells with an aveox and no problems getting out of th water. Hope this helps.

Sreve,
Thanks for the help. The motor is brand new( only one run). This has been a bad luck boat for me. I have never been able to get it to run correctly. It is fast but it has been underwater twice. I've had to swim twice for this boat.(bad tape jobs) It is not too good to see the point on the front pointing to the sky. I now have a complete new motor, esc and radio in it and wanted to try to get it right this time. It seems fast but I wanted to find the CG on this hull.
Thanks Again

Being this is a stepped hull, it wants to ask like a hydro and ride on the first step. Riding on the first step makes the boat run too wet and this slows you down and makes everything work harder. Start with the weight at the transom and work your way forward until the nose comes down nice and parallel to the water and the boat is riding on the strut. If you don't have trim tabs you need to get them. Go to www.finedesignrc.com Go to the videos section and "right click" on El lobo 25" and "Save Target As" and view the footage. Try and pause the video when the boat comes close to the camera on the second lap and you will get a so-so look at how the boat is riding on the water. Hope this helps.

Also try a minimum X642 prop for a little extra kick - a 645 is a good choice too

Check the bottom of that hull and check there is no hook or dip the surface should be flat.
